SUMMARY
Do you remember the first time? Still the bravest, freshest, fruitiest and most honest account of first love, first sex and first heartbreak ever written for teens. It was a book ahead of its time - and remains, after forty years in print, a teenage bestseller. Now with a brand-new cover look.

REVIEW
I'm sure if I'd have read this when it was first published I'd have enjoyed it even more (I wasn't born then though!. It's clear that it was a bold and frank novel for the time, and Katherine's depictions of her and Michael's growing relationship are definitely aimed at the 14+ market. I can see that people would still read and enjoy this now, because reading about someone falling in love for the first time is always interesting, but I think despite it still being enjoyable it has lost some of it's power to shock.
